Until the Sixties Rione Terra was still the lively center of the city; over the centuries the new buildings had created a stratification covering the Roman city.
The underground archaeological path through the Roman excavations of Rione Terra, closed since 2009, has now been reopened, bringing to light the ancient fortress of a city that was called “Little Rome” centuries ago and which hosted even St. Paul.
The route has been designed as a multimedia and sensorial experience, with special effects, video installations and virtual images that enliven the route by creating a true travel back to the past.
