Adopt a masterpiece in Naples

Rooms, spaces, museum restorations and other initiatives that require donations

The Association is convinced that the general public should regard cultural heritage as common property, to be defended both by institutions and by the direct intervention of society as a whole. We therefore tend to encourage “widespread patronage”.
You can support the museums of the museum network in two main ways:

  • adoption of a room
  • restoration of a work

Rooms and museum spaces

By making a long-term commitment that lasts several years, it is possible to adopt a room in one of the museums of the museum network, in order to make a contribution to the conservation and maintenance work of the rooms.
Adoption guarantees those who lend their support get a return in terms of heightened image and enhanced visibility through the name of the room or a mention in the caption of the work.
It also ensures privileged treatment for the temporary use of museum spaces in order to set up events promoted by the sponsor.

Restoration

Museums are full of works in need of conservation, very often crucial to ensuring their very survival.
It is possible to bear the cost of restoration through a single payment, or by participating in a group collection.
This will also mean mention of the supporter’s name in the caption of the work.
We shall publish a list below of the works awaiting restoration which the Soprintendenza (the Monuments and Fine Arts Office) have highlighted. The costs of restoration range from 1,000 to 50,000 Euro.

Other types of intervention

Like any building with large numbers of visitors, a museum has small and even simple needs linked to daily opening for over 320 days a year. It is important to address these needs promptly because the image of a museum depends partly on its state of maintenance.
It is also possible to help museums in this indispensable and precious ‘routine’ conservation work by sending the Association a contribution – even a modest one – for the purpose.
The Association will give an account of the intervention work on its site.

At www.amicidicapodimonte.org  you will find a list of the works awaiting restoration, in a price range of between 1,000 and 50,000 Euros, that the Superintendent highlighted.
