After her performance at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan, Marina Abramović arrives in Naples.
Ecstasy, an exhibition promoted by Vanitas Club and curated by Casa Testori, will present “The Kitchen. Homage to Saint Therese” to the public from September 5 in the spaces of Castel dell’Ovo: a cycle of three videos in which Marina Abramović (Belgrade, 1946) relates to the figure of Saint Teresa of Avila.
For the mother of performance art, it is therefore a “return” to Naples: here, in 1974, Abramović held the historic Rhythm 0 at Galleria Studio Morra, a performance in which the artist placed herself, immobile and defenseless, before visitors, in front of a table with objects of different kinds — including weapons — that the public could use at will.
