The Cloisters of San Giovanni a Carbonara Reopen

A remarkable cultural space has reopened in the heart of Naples.

After a long period of closure, the Catalan Cloister and the Sixteenth-Century Cloister of San Giovanni a Carbonara are once again open to the public, together with the Vasari Sacristy.

The reopening is part of a wider project for the restoration and enhancement of the former Garibaldi Barracks complex and includes new spaces intended for cultural activities, exhibitions, workshops and initiatives open to the city.

The project gives Naples back a site of great historical and architectural value, destined to become a new point of interest for visitors wishing to discover some of the city’s lesser-known treasures.
