Until October, Naples will be the protagonist of the 41st edition of “Summer in Naples 2020”, the historic event organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples.
This year, the organization was put to the test by the extremely difficult moment experienced both by the culture and tourism sectors and by local authorities, overwhelmed by the pandemic crisis.
Every evening, in different locations, a program will take place with the aim of giving a strong signal of cultural authority, enthusiasm and support for culture.
From theatrical performances in the historic venue of the Convent of San Domenico Maggiore to meetings with professional categories in the cultural and tourism sectors, in order to rethink and organize together a path toward the recovery of activities; from book presentations to musical aperitifs, from the Renato Carosone Award to the Flegrea Arena Music, Identity and Revolution Festival in Piazzale San Martino, up to the exhibitions in the municipal exhibition spaces, PAN, Convent of San Domenico Maggiore and Castel dell’Ovo, “Summer in Naples 2020_We support culture. Let’s spread beauty” intends to express the need to start again, support the sector, reopen cultural spaces, sow social and cultural opportunities in all the neighborhoods of the city, and relaunch tourism, also through major events to be held in compliance with regulations in large spaces, with preference given to free admission.
