ANDY WARHOL AT THE PAN (Palazzo Arti Napoli)
From April 18 to 20 July 2014
The new exhibition, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, is held from 18 April to July 20, 2014 in the Palace of Arts Naples in via dei Mille.
Named Vetrine, the exhibition shows 150 works with a particular attention to the relationship that existed between the American artist and the city of Naples. The artist started his relationship with Napoli thanks to his friendship from the mid 70s with the gallery owner Lucio Amelio.
The exhibition includes portraits of well-known citizens that Warhol had met during his visits to Italy. The exhibition “Vetrine”, which is realized in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Naples, is also hosting a large group of works on paper, drawn from the series Golden Shoes, as well as the serigraphs of Campbell’s soup and some “Camoufflage” – sculpture boxes and t-shirts created by the Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts.
