The 62nd edition of Ravello Festival finally returns.
The motif is “ The South” and a tribute goes to the great Eduardo De Filippo.
The inauguration of the 2014 billboard – almost fifty shows and concerts with others prestigious exhibitions and events – will see in the renovated Belvedere of Villa Rufolo an event proudly “Neapolitan”.
Thirty years after his death, the Ravello Festival gives a tribute to the great Eduardo De Filippo, actor and author who, with his genius has indelibly marked the history of the theater not only Italian.
For RAVELLO FESTIVAL’s inauguration on June 21th there will be the premiere of “Amati fogli sparsi” (commissioned by the artistic direction of the Ravello Festival and produced by Vesuvioteatro) with Isa Danieli and Danilo Rea, two protagonists of the iItalian music and theatre scene.
Capable every year to draw enthusiasts from all around the world in the beautiful town of Ravello, on the Amalfi Coast, the Ravello Festival this year has a wide and original program, which also concern theatre and dance. The Ravello Festival will also offer a series of major exhibitions of visual arts. Tony Cragg will transform Villa Rufolo and the terrace Niemeyer in an open-air museum and his exhibition (curated by Flavio Arensi) from June 27th to October 31st forecast as one of the great events of the Italian season. In addition to this, from June 22nd to October 31st, the Ravello Festival will host the exhibition of Wang Guangyi, a Chinese illustrator became famous, all over the world, with his cycle “Great Criticism”, and designed the poster of 2014 Festival.
Every weekend the Ravello Festival will offer an appointment with a prestigious symphonic concert, confirming the first place in Italy for the proposal of classical music, with 10 concerts in 3 months of programming.
The planning starts on June 21st and consider events, concerts and performances until the end of the year.
